Windows 10 End of Life: How to Stay Safe and Avoid Hackers
The official guide to using "Zombie" Windows without getting a virus.

Maybe your computer is too old to run Windows 11. Maybe you just don't like the way Windows 11 looks. Whatever the reason, you are now in a dangerous situation.
Three months ago, Microsoft officially "killed" Windows 10. They stopped sending out security updates. Think of your computer like a house. For years, Microsoft was the security guard. If a window broke, they fixed it. If a lock was broken, they replaced it. But now, the security guard has quit his job. He went home. Your house is now alone, and the burglars (hackers) know it.
So, what should you do? Should you throw your laptop in the trash? No! You can still use your computer safely, but you have to be very smart. In this guide, I will show you how to turn your weak Windows 10 into a "Fortress Edition" that hackers cannot touch.
The Big Danger: What is a "Zombie" PC?
We call these computers "Zombie PCs" because they are technically dead, but they are still walking around on the internet. The biggest danger to a Zombie PC is something called Ransomware.
Imagine you turn on your computer one morning. All your photos, your homework, and your games are gone. Instead, there is a big red screen that says: "Pay us $500 or we will delete everything." This is Ransomware. Because Microsoft is not fixing the holes in Windows 10 anymore, it is very easy for bad guys to sneak this virus onto your computer.
But there is good news. There are tools made by the community that can protect you. We are going to use a special method called "Micropatching" to stay safe.
Step 1: The Secret Weapon (0patch)
Microsoft actually still makes updates for Windows 10, but they only give them to big companies who pay millions of dollars. They want you to pay $60 a year for "Extended Security Updates." Do not pay that money!
There is a company called 0patch (Zero Patch). They are the heroes of the PC world. When a new virus is found, 0patch writes a tiny piece of code to fix it. They give this code to regular people for free.
It works like magic. You install the 0patch Agent, and it runs quietly in the background. When it sees a hole in your security, it "injects" a fix into the computer's memory. You don't even have to restart your computer! It is faster and lighter than the old Windows Update. By using this tool, you can keep using Windows 10 safely until 2028 or even longer.
Step 2: Close the Doors (Firewall)
Antivirus is not enough anymore. Antivirus only stops a virus after it is already inside your house. We want to stop it at the front door. To do this, we need a strong Firewall.
The standard Windows Firewall is okay, but it is hard to use. I recommend a tiny tool called TinyWall. This tool does something very smart: it blocks EVERYTHING.
When you install TinyWall, it cuts off the internet for all programs. Then, you simply choose the programs you trust (like Chrome, Steam, or Discord) and let them through. If a hacker tries to run a virus on your PC, the virus will try to connect to the internet to steal your passwords. TinyWall will see this stranger and say "NO!" protecting your data instantly.

Step 3: The Browser Matters
The last thing you must do is stop using Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer. These browsers are tied deep into Windows. If they have a bug, your whole computer has a bug.
Switch to a browser like Firefox or Brave. These browsers are updated separately from Windows. Even if Windows 10 is old, Firefox will still be new and secure. This is your first line of defense against bad websites.
